In the interest of better health, a few years ago I tried to do what I could to eliminate various sources of animal products from our diet. We switched to soy/rice milk. I figured out that baking with a vegan egg substitute doesn't change the taste or texture of baked goods. I also got rid of cheese where I could. I must have done a better job than I thought because one day at Target, Amelia asked me what string cheese was. I figured it must be about time to get them a package of it.
**Don't worry... We still use cheese and milk for the good stuff, like macaroni and cheese!
Amelia was pretty excited about this really large piece of "Cotton Flower" that came with her lunch. I think the word she was looking for was cauliflower, but she's fitting right in here in NC.
I was walking past one of our windows one day, when a big shadow went by. Large enough to make you feel like ducking out of the way of whatever was about to fly in. It was one of these huge vultures who came in to pick at something in the road. They. Are. Huge. And ugly.
Our next door neighbors are such nice people. We really like them.
And they really like Halloween.
One Sabbath while we were at church, they were BUSY decorating their front yard. We came home and this is what we found
I love Amelia.
Girlfriend tells it like it is.
As I'm pulling into our drive way, she says: "WOW! They've REALLY outdone themselves NOOOOW!!!"
Poor Amelia didn't really mean that as a compliment because Halloween and it's decorations have always scared her. As a baby we had to run really fast past them at Walmart to keep her from becoming a crying mess. She handled this better than I thought she would have and despite choosing to skip trick or treating this year, they put on such a big production next door that all 3 kids wanted to go check it out up close.
Thanks to a super nice guy at Fullers Music, we're back in the noise making business with our extra high quality Mexican toy, I mean, guitar. Gratas, no less! Gracias, Hombre!
We all know Semper has zero interest in Regal's favorite squeaky pig.
But big sisters will be big sisters.
