Life Imitates Art

This picture was a birthday gift to me a long time ago from my Grandmother and Aunt.
I fell in love with it at a local art shop because it looks just like my sweet Semper girl sleeping on the bed.
For many years now dogs haven't been allowed on the furniture so Semper doesn't get to curl up and sleep all comfy, cozy on my bed.

(Yeah, right!  She is smart enough that she usually waits until the car pulls out of the driveway.)

Young Mr. Beagle is not quite so sauve with his misbehavior yet.
Besides, he's so cute, you'd have to not have a soul in order to move him.  Right, Jeremy?
;)

**Want to hear a funny story about that picture?  The last time we lived in NC, I searched and searched at Christmas one year to find a sprig of mistletoe to hang on that picture above our bed.  My plan was to leave it there year-round.  My mother in law had (has) some hanging above the sofa that Jeremy and I would sit on to watch movies WAY back when we were dating... back in the days of my being willing to sit and watch his "Top Ten Most Manly Man Favorite Movies of All Time List".  Truth?  I was only willing to watch those movies because of that mistletoe.  ;)  Oh, and I did make him watch my favorite movie after we plowed through his 10.  Aladdin.  Fast Forward to 2006... I finally found the perfect piece of mistletoe.  It was shiny and glittery and full of beauty.  I brought it home and with much pleasure tucked it over a corner of that frame and every time I looked at it, I thought of my fond memories of a young love that would prove to be one of the most important relationships that my life will offer me.  So when we moved to Yuma, I carefully packed it and placed it right back in it's spot in the new house.  With every earthquake I would fix it back the way I wanted it to hang.  It wasn't until I took it back down to pack it so we could move back here that my brain realized what I was really looking at.

A piece of Holly.

Silly Blonde.

Love the way the two pictures compare to one another! Also-the mistletoe story is hilarious. You have a while now to find the real thing...and this is the perfect time of year to find some!!!
