Marshall and Amelia have never been as into art as Abby always was. Marshall spent years in O/T and honestly Amelia probably would have benefited from some as well. It took her quite a long time to be willing to draw or color for "fun". Needless to say, way back when, I had no idea how odd it was that at barely 4 Abby was making her own stuffed animals with paper, tape and cotton balls and her own 2 foot tall horse statues out of paper towel tubes... all on her own. I would give her the things she needed and then help her clean up the mess.
I was hoping to inspire Amelia to work on that creative aspect of her personality, so the last time I bought Abby a sketch pad, I picked up one for Amelia as well. She has been having so much fun sitting at the table and putting her art out on paper. This one is her interpretation of The Lion King.
And this is that other big cat, the tiger!
Given her recent interest in drawing, I told her she could take the homeschool art class at the local art supplies store in downtown New Bern. The one we're thinking would be best for her is in January, so she has lots of time to practice until then.

Good job Amelia.
I'm still working on perfecting my stick figures.
