After Dinner Walk, Anyone?

We love to take after dinner walks.  It's the perfect time of day to get outside during a long North Carolina summer day.  While the humidity stays pretty high, the temperatures start to drop to a more tolerable range.  One of our favorite places to wander to is the beach access in our neighborhood.
It is a simply beautiful place to watch the sunset.

It's pretty good for play too, of course.  Amelia made her own fishing pole by tying some seaweed to a stick.  She didn't catch anything, but she was happy!

So lovely and peaceful.  It makes a few mosquito bites worth it, right?

Abby and her fresh new haircut.  She wanted it short and she got it!
I love the tree behind her.  I need to figure out what kind it is so we can plant one.
See that crazy fluffy looking purple thing on the tree?  The right time of year and the tree is COVERED in them.  They remind me of the little flower that Horton carries Whoville on and who doesn't love that?

Just now catching up on my blog reading and saw this. It is a mimosa tree. Not sure if I spelled that right, but it's phonetically correct. =)
