Because just arriving in NC after a 2800 mile drive wasn't enough time in the car, just 2 weeks after arriving, we packed up everyone + that puppy again and headed north. My friend Holly's son Zach was getting married and I wasn't going to let a few pressure ulcers from the seat of the car stop me from being there. I've yet to figure out how someone I have known since I was in high school and he was 7 months old is old enough to get married when I am quite certain I am still only 27. Sigh... I hope my own kids grow up slower, though from what I've seen, that won't be happening.
YAY!!!
(Insert loud celebration from inside my car here!)
Mr. Regal made himself right at home at Aunt Lorry's house.
Amelia has wanted a pet bird for so long. She won't be getting one while she lives with me (ahem...rodent with wings), so she has learned to love on my sisters bird, Philly. Please excuse the bedhead. She and the person who brushes her hair are travel weary and still adjusting to the new time zone. And, no, I don't really feel guilty about not getting her a bird. Remember? New puppy. That buys me A LOT of outs for the future.
Marshall is willing to hold it, but I don't think he is really sure how he feels about it.
Have you seen the latest in hair fashion?
They're all the rage in Paris.
Turns out the little stinker of a bird enjoys nesting in Amelia's hair.
Semper and her arch nemesis, Pheobe. Innocent looking enough here, but don't get in the way if they decide to rumble! Just to put it in perspective, Pheobe is about 90 pounds. Semper, 45. Pheobe is about 6 years old and in peak health. Semper, almost 14 and a big old case of hip dysplasia. Why in the world ANYTHING would be worth a scuffle to Semper is beyond me. I would be going out of my way to send out zulu pheromones! The worst part is, 99% of the time, they do just fine together, so you never know when to expect it. We have yet to figure out what sets them off.
I recognize that we are still getting used to things everyone else takes for granted, like rain and storms, but these storm clouds had me wanting to head for cover! I think I saw this on Storm Chasers and it didn't end well. ;)
