American Girl Store, D.C. STYLE!!!

We planned to go to the D.C. area to visit friends and family in the area, so while we were there, I kidnapped our friend Sharon and we headed down to Tyson's Corner, VA to check out their new American Girl Store.  Abby had been babysitting all Summer and the little 2 worked odd jobs to earn their vacation money.  I'm sure you can take a pretty good guess at where the girls spent theirs...

Amelia and her new baby boy, Jack.
I couldn't have been more surprised that she chose a blonde boy!

(Btw... I find the pink haze that is found on every picture from this store to be quite disturbing!)
Abby allowed her inner hippy to shine and went with 1970's Julie!

And just like the L.A. stores, the rest rooms come equipped with doll holders in the stalls.

And some by the sink.
A.G. cares about handwashing!!!!  ;)

Love this.
Like I'm going to take financial advice from a store that charges more for doll
clothing than I pay for my own.

Some times a marketing plan comes up that is pure genius.
American Girl stores tend to run with other stores to appease the rest of the family.
Apple Stores for Dad's
Lego Stores for Brothers!

We made reservations to lunch at the American Girl Bistro.  While we waited to be seated, I looked at these thin glass bubble chandeliers with my West Coast eyes.  I couldn't help but wonder how they would hold up in an earthquake.  Little did I know that 4 days later, D.C. would have it's own magnitude 5.8 shaker!  Now I will need someone local to go by and see if they made it!

A resigned Marshall passed his time as best any boy surrounded in a world of pink and fru fru could.
He found an A.G. mystery book on the shelf to read.

I love the little chairs and tea sets they give you to use while you dine.

There is a whole section of "loaner" dolls you can use if you don't have one with which to enjoy your lunch.  Stinker that he is, Marshall chose the identical twin to Amelia's doll.

Mimi Bear and the REAL Jack!

More girlie lighting!

Amelia and her fun fruit skewers.
Up until this point, I hadn't eaten any meat in months.  The menu at the bistro was rather limited, vegetarian wise, especially since I don't care for cheese.  So, with the help of the waiter, I decided I would have this grilled salmon with asian coleslaw and rice.  It was SOOOOOO good!  He was totally right when he said he would eat it everyday.  I hate to say it, but Amelia is right too!  If the chicken (salmon in this instance) didn't want to die, well then, he shouldn't have tasted so good!

Dessert was a brownie pop for each kid.
I think Abby's face says it all....

Oh how fun! Karina's American "male" twin was named Jake. Looks like a twin to Jack.
