Anyone in the mood for some breakfast??

Our church hosted it's annual desert breakfast this March (Gee.... someone is a bit behind in posting, huh?) :) We met in a little spot in the desert that offers beautiful views and a real feeling of peace and seclusion. We, along with some friends, were the first ones there to prepare the spot for the mornings events. While the adults got the site set up and started cooking, the little ones wandered around looking for things that captured their interest.

Jeremy, Fred and Derek setting up some valuable shade
(and Fred's right... old guys DO rule!)

Marshall found a colony of ants. Being the little creature lover he is, he decided to help them by building some bridges, ladders and covering some holes to keep them from falling in!

Kareen deliriously relieved after surviving a little link flash fire worthy of a five star hibachi grill

A still sleepy Abby takes her turn on the grill, making some eggs.

We scheduled the breakfast before our "winter visitors" headed back to Washington, Oregon and Canada. It was nice to have one last chance to visit with everyone still together.

The food was incredible. This time of year the local produce is amazing!

The kids really enjoyed playing some magnets and magnifying glasses that Fred brought. They had lots of fun pulling the iron and magnetites out of the sand.

You just never know what characters are going to show their faces at a church event....

Tired, dirty and stuffed, we finally left for home! What a great way to bring in a day!

At first (at this late hour) I thought you wrote dessert breakfast. I was all for that. Life's short eat dessert first. Oh well, looks like everyone had a great time. Glad to see what's happenin' in Yuma.
