pretty sights

Jeremy came home from a short trip to CA last Saturday night. We were in the house just enjoying his return when we noticed the most amazing sight. A hot air balloon drifted just over the top of our house at a rather low height. We grabbed the camera and headed outside.
We were close enough to see and hear the flame inside the balloon.

This was as the balloon drifted off a little bit further.
We have gotten quite used to seeing hot air balloons floating about. In fact just the other day we were driving around town and Amelia yelled BALLOON! and was pointing frantically. We were all a little disappointed when we realized it was just a latex balloon that was floating away from a car dealer. :( Silly girl!

The next two are for our poor friends and family who are trying to dig themselves out of record amounts of snow. Flowers really do exist!!
These are my geraniums. They've lived outside all winter. :) Of course the price to pay for them is having to water them twice a day in the summer. Do you like our "grass"? I'm told it's called desert landscaping....

This is my bougainvillea. It replaces a Mandevilla that decided it would refuse to take root or grow for an entire year. Here's hoping for better luck!

We stayed outside to chat with neighbors who came out to see the balloon too and witnessed one of those infamous Arizona sunsets.
