Merry Christmas, Mawts-1 Style!

When it comes to family oriented Christmas parties, Mawts sure knows how to do it! Last years party was lots of fun and this year rocked too! It was held at the West Wetlands park, which we call the castle park.... I'm sure you can see why! The kids have a blast running through the wooden structure with all of it's twists, turns, exits and entrances (It's my nightmare... there's no way to see everyone at once!)
Of course, Santa made an appearance. The kids were happy to sit on his lap and once again put in their requests.
He had a few small toys to hand out and found the PERFECT one for Amelia! She has always loved the horses on a stick. This one is smaller in size so I'm happy with it too. (She is too... she didn't want to stop playing to take the picture!)

She has always loved those horses on a stick. This one is smaller in size so I'm happy with it too. (Don't let this picture fool you, she is too... she didn't want to stop playing to take the picture!) Santa chose this one just for her after she asked for a horse. He didn't give her a chance to specify that she was talking about a REAL horse! ;) His helper tried to hand him a brown horse and he made him keep looking because he wanted to give her a pink one. What a sweet way to make it all the more personalized... to have Santa be choosy about which toy he made just for you!

This is just about as close to a "date night" as we're going to get... dinner catered by a yummy bbq place in town and some time alone on a bench. Abby was kind to stop playing just long enough to snap a rare photo of the two of us.

The kids love this tire swing.

Well, Abby and Amelia do! Marshall tolerates it when Daddy's not making it go too fast...
