A Day on the Colorado River King

Our last Social Committee event through church was a Sunday morning cruise on The Colorado River King, a real, honest to goodness paddleboat!

The boat was really a one of a kind experience.  It was literally pieced together by it's first owner who made adjustments as he ran into snags.  If I'd paid more attention instead of being completely awed by the beauty of the river, I would be able to tell you more.  Guess if you want more information, you'll just have to come visit and we can go back together and actually listen!  ;)
This is Marshall's "I'm soo sooo C-c-c-cold" face.
It was a rare cool day (70's) for Yuma in April.  When you get on the water, that drops the temperature another few degrees.  We brought sweatshirts and some lap blankets, so we were well prepared.

It didn't take us long to move out from under the canopy and into the sunshine to take advantage of the warmth!

Marshall thought it was pretty loud downstairs by the paddles.  He warned me that I should close my ears before we got too close.  It was mezmerizing watching the water being thrown up into the wake.

I just can't help but love this girls' enthusiasm for life.

The kids chose this sunny spot to sit and chat.  We packed a lunch and all sat at the sunny back of the boat to eat.  It was all very relaxing.

See that sign?  DANGER-STAY CLEAR?  They mean it.

There is a dam on the river and that's the edge.  Looks like on of dem der fancy infinity pools dey'v got down in FlorEEda!  Might want to watch that first step.  It's a doozy!

The girls, the AZ flag, US flag and that edge of the dam is back there too!
It always amazes me how vibrant colors appear here.  I suppose it's just the contrast to all the neutral colors.  Your eyes really seem to appreciate the color more.  Either way, I think it makes for fantastic pictures.

My pretty girl!

I talked Abby into taking one picture of Jeremy and I together.  :)
