When it was time for us to depart April's house, we headed a few hours east to Ohio where Jeremy's Grandmother and Cousin Michelle live.
Our first stop was to see sweet Grandma Lorraine. She is such a wonderful, lovely person. You would never guess that my children see her as infrequently as they do. Actually this was Amelia's first time meeting her and Marshall and Abby's second. She has this amazing ability to swoop the children into her arms and make them feel as though they are home at Grandma's, even if they just met. She organized a fun icebreaker for their arrival, a treasure hunt, complete with poems that she made up just for them and a prize at the end. We all enjoyed our relaxing lunch and afternoon with her.
After Grandma Lorraines, we went to visit Cousin Michelle and her family. They were super sweet to squeeze us in on an already busy night AND fed us a delicious impromptu dinner. The kids LOVE to get together with Jonathan and Karina. The girls go one way and the boys the other and you won't see them again until it's time to leave! Michelle's Dad, Eric even stopped by to say hello while we were in town. I was treated to a tour of his brand-spankin new place while the kids played.
Karina, Marshall, Amelia, Abby and Jonathan being silly before we head to the car for one last segment of our journey to NC.
