Abby+Daddy+Baseball=

One Honey of a Shiner!

In a perfect world, all three of our children would have inherited Jeremy's athleticism AND my sunny disposition. Unfortunately we don't get to pick and choose and when DNA falls where it may, it sometimes results in children who are unable to hold their tempers, catch balls, or possess much in the way of coordination or balance. Still, I must admire my husbands determination in attempting to teach them the love of sports. And if nothing else, Abby is learning to take the bumps and bruises like a trooper! :)

(And lest you become hopeful that it is a trait that can be outgrown, the very day this occurred, I COMPLETELY wiped out on our front porch. I was carrying a rather bulky item out the front door and stepped right on a piece of sidewalk chalk Amelia had placed to the side of where she was playing. I don't think I even tried to stop my fall. Only my pride was injured though as I started giggling and picking myself up, I noticed my friend next door had the best seat in the house for my little fancy dance! Aahh... thankfully I've had plenty of chances to learn that laughing at yourself lesson!!)

Some people fall on ice and some people fall on sidewalk chalk. It seems like no matter what you fall on or off of there is always someone there to see the show.

If she listened the first time Daddy wouldn't have to make her play baseball....
