Abby's new do

Abby decided this week to get her hair, almost all of it in fact, chopped off. She wanted to donate her hair to the locks of love organization that makes wigs for children who have hair loss. Please check out their website, www.locksoflove.org. They make the wigs for financially disadvantaged children who suffer from a long term hair loss such as alopecia. She says that while she doesn't really care for her hair short, she knew that hers would grow back so she wanted to share it with kids who couldn't grow hair. The cut is super cute on her though it may make her look a bit old for my taste! Her plan now is to grow her hair long again over the next three years, keep the short do for a year and then cut it for the kids again.

We are counting down the days until the end of the school year. Abby is doing some practice tests and finishing up the little bit of work left in her text books. She is scheduled to take the Iowa test at the end of this month. She will be completely finished after she tests. Our development's pools open at the same time, so I'm sure we'll be spending lots of time there. We are all ready from some outside time and a reprieve from schoolwork.

Marshall and Amelia are doing fine. Amelia is experimenting with using the potty and Marshall is becoming quite the chatter bug these days. He loves to talk and tease and will go on for hours about sharks.

Jeremy is here, but seems to always be going somewhere. He is getting ready for a trip to Alaska at the end of the month. We will miss him, like always, but are lucky enough to be looking forward to a visit from my sister and her boys while he is gone.

Tell Abby that we are so proud of her. That was very generous of her to donate her hair, that she cherished so much.
My, oh my, how fast these children have grown. They are barely recognizable. Torry, they are growing up beautifully. Its seems you and Jeremy are doing a great job :>).
I hope next time, we'll see more pictures of you, TORRY.
Well, take care and keep the blogs coming. Love you guys!

I have to say that I was a little nervous about Abby getting the new hair cut, but it looks really good. (And thank goodness she still looks like a nine year old!) I'll bet it's a lot easier for her to take care of too.

In just a few more weeks, I'll be sitting down there! Can't wait!

Hi Torry,

I loved reading about your family and the pictures are absolutely awesome! Thank you so much for posting my site as your "favorite place". LOL Your daughter's hair cut is the cutest and I applaud her for her reasons for wanting it cut. Best wishes!!

Ally says, "Oh my gosh, I can't believe how short your hair is! It's also gotten darker. I'm getting my hair cut soon, very short also. I miss you, Love Ally Gibbons"
