Feliz Sabado!

After our visit with the Olsons, we headed back to Yuma, arriving just after dinner time.  Bobbie Jo and Fred were sweet enough to save us some of her delicious soup and olive bread, both of which have become some of the kids favorites that they've asked me to make since we've been home.  After dinner and a nice bible story from Bobbie Jo, the kids headed off to bed.

When we got up Sabbath morning, their beautiful German Shepard, Kiera, was outside barking.  At first we wondered if a stray kitty was in the tree, but realized what she was really looking at... hot air balloons from the Hot Air Balloon Festival occurring that weekend.
*Sigh*  I love Yuma in the fall.  So much fun to be had!

Such a pretty girl.  Can you believe somebody left this beautiful face at the pound?  Bobbie Jo was right to snatch her up.  She's a great dog.

Their other dog, Pierce.  This is the best picture I could get of him.  He is much too busy to sit still for a the paparazzi.  Poor thing is made of leftover doggie parts (He has the shortest little legs) but those are my favorite kinds of dogs!  Plus, he is super lovey.  He kept trying to curl up on my lap whenever I would sit on the floor.  It didn't work too well because even with short legs, he's bigger than my lap, but I didn't mind him trying!

After a full day of Sabbath School, church, picnic in the park and just a smidge of downtime, we headed back to church for the evening's vespers.  Poor Meems.  You know it's been a good vacation when you can't make it through the day without a spontaneous, sitting straight up, snoring nap.

Not to fear, though!  The evening was not over!  After vespers, we woke up and headed over to the Desert Balloon Glow.  We went to this our first year here in Yuma when we were still Newbies and super excited about all the fun things to do.

Back in 2008, I had to literally RUN back to the car with Amelia.  She was terrified of the fireworks.  She sat in the car crying the whole time.  I suppose if you're going to completely freak out about something, it's better to do it in the privacy of your own vehicle.  Unfortunately, she's decided to go and grow up so she may have had to cover her ears, but she made it through the fireworks without any major issues.

I usually can't get a decent shot of fireworks, but I must have gotten lucky this night!
