Happy Birthday to Amelia!!

When I figured out that Amelia's birthday was going to fall during the week of the Pathfinder Camporee, I ever so gently presented this fact to her.  Since she is a tag-a-long and not an actual pathfinder, I thought she might be upset.  Nope.  She was so excited.  She kept telling everyone that her birthday "was going to be in California".  She was so excited that Marshall felt like he was cheated in some way by having to celebrate his birthday in Arizona.  She remained ecstatic even after we explained to her that she wouldn't be able to choose her dinner and would only be able to open a gift or two on her actual birthday.
I took along our Happy Birthday sign camping with us.
We actually had 3 people ask if they could borrow when we were finished with it.

Guess Amelia wasn't the only one with a birthday!
Mabel's dad, Don took the 3 girls off for a morning of fun and play while Jeremy
and I helped the bigger two get to where they needed to be for their honors and drill
practice.  The day before, they decided that they wanted to "jump" for Amelia's birthday.
Right next to the zip line was a bungee jumping place.  Don left the camp, thinking
he was taking the girls to the park only to find out that they had other plans for him.  He
made her birthday wishes come true!  1.5 hours after getting in line, they reached
the front!  Despite sunblock, they were all a bit red.  And I think they wore Don out.  This
is him at the park later.  ;)

Abby wishing Amelia a Happy Birthday.
Sisters are so sweet.

Mama brought cupcakes for dessert!
I was trying to decide how I was going to have a special treat for her birthday.  I thought about trying to find a Walmart near where we were camping, but in the end, frugality and laziness won.  I made a couple of batches of cupcakes, popped them in the freezer overnight and then let them thaw Wednesday and Thursday.  Friday they were still soft and moist, nothing left to do but apply a little frosting.

And she wished for....
"A Happy Birthday!"
(Which she says she had!)
One of the 2 gifts we took with us...
An American Girl type foal from Aunt Lorry.
She named her Rosetta.  Like Rosetta Stone, her Spanish Curriculum.

And our big gift to her... A kindle.
Who's thinking ahead about that ride from West-East coasts???  That's right!  I am!

Daddy and his baby girl.

We were in the camp less than an hour before Jeremy had himself some extra duties.
That's the kind of Helpy-Helperton guy he is.
His job came with this 4-wheeler, so Amelia got a birthday ride!

Our friend Fred is the conference director for Pathfinders so he had a really cool golf cart.
Look who not only got a birthday ride, but a birthday DRIVE!!!

At the before bedtime program, she lost her TOOTH!  I had to take the picture the next morning
while the sun was shining.  ;)
**Side note... Want to know why I loathe camping?  Look how tired this sweet girl is.
Her eyes only open into tiny little slits and she has huge bags under them!  Does she not
look like the corner wino who would have their trusty brown paper bag covered bottle tucked into
their sleeping bag with them?**
Happy Birthday to my sweet Mimi-bear!
(@ 9 months and strutting her stuff!)

So sweet. I can hardly believe she's 7 although Emilee is in line for next month. Where are the wee lil kidlets we had back in NC?!

The last picture made me want the baby Amelia back! Such sweet memories. I'm glad she enjoyed her camping birthday so much.
