Tis the season for grateful hearts... I thought this week I'd share some of the things that make my life as blessed as it is.
Today, I am thankful for church family. Thankful for the family I left in North Carolina who I miss and think of daily.
Thankful for the new church family that I finally feel that we are growing into a year later...

Last week was a special "desert vespers" that we were oh so happy to attend. If Jeremy could have been there, it would have been even better. The whole evening was all about everything he loves!
When we arrived at our specially chosen location near Picacho Peak State Park, the sun was up and the weather perfect. We went on a bit of a desert hike. The kids had a great time finding and saving rocks. You know true desperation and love for inanimate objects when you see a 6 year old who has his hands full of rocks trying to make his way up a steep gravel covered hill clutching to "his" rocks with all his might. After the hike, we enjoyed a potluck dinner. Abby asked if she could make a cake to share, so she did. All by herself. (Well, almost... when I heard her mention needing 4 1/4 cups of water, I told her to look again!) She was super proud of herself and I was too. The cake was excellent! Light and fluffy... sugary too! Quite a few people came up to her to tell her how much they enjoyed it.

After dinner, we listened to some campfire stories and played some fun games, like bible charades.

Here you'll see Joshua and his army knocking down the walls of Jericho.
for sweet little boys who pray when they should... and for spirited little girls who just can't help but peek....
