Happy Veteran's Day!

So, you know yesterday was a great day, Happy Birthday US Marines and little Sarah....

Jeremy and his favorite gal went to the School-Aged Marine Corps Ball on November 6th. I think they both had a great time and watching Abby's excitement was priceless.

Abby and two of her best friends here, Madeleine and Mary. They are sisters who live across the street and they, too, love American Girl Dolls....

But, today, we'd like to thank all current and former servicemen and their families and say Happy Veteran's Day!

We started today with a trip downtown to the local Veteran's Day Parade. We took our breakfast of waffles and orange juice on the curb.

The start of the parade? Just a few good men...

The Pathfinder club that Abby belongs to was sponsoring a float. She was as pretty as a picture up there waving! (She's the first girl on the left)

It started to get a bit sunny and hot out there!

Is any event REALLY complete without a train???

After the Parade, we went to Applebee's. It's yummy PLUS Jeremy was free today! (Poor thing had to pay for the rest of us, but isn't that part of the marketing genius?) While we were there, we saw a Marine who attends our church in his dress blues. Turns out he was the good man carrying the American Flag in the above picture. :) I told him I'd get him a copy.

The rest of the day we've spent running various errands to get our favorite Veteran ready for a 3 week vacation, uh, trip to Twenty Nine Palms. He leaves tomorrow so we're trying to get as much Daddy time as we can today!

So I got the bday card Jeremy sent but after seeing him in that homo-beret I may have to send it back to him at his birthday time.
