It's a Beagley 2nd Birthday!

Our sweet Beagle-Boy had a birthday this week!  We don't know the exact date of his birth, but we know that it is right around the middle of March, so we just chose March 17 as his big day.  This year we woke up to yet another snowed in-not going anywhere kind of day, so we decided not to tell him it was his birthday until the 18th.  ;)

Two years ago, I never would have thought that wide eyed nutball of a puppy would EVER have this much control over his actions!

(Even if he couldn't help but offer up a nice stress yawn at the wait!)

He had to share his birthday cheeseburger with his big doggie sister and as it turns out, all 3 human siblings.  I tore the burger in half and handed Semper's portion back to Marshall to hold while I tore Regal's into small bites.  From behind me, I could feel a distinct change in the aura of the room.

I'm fairly certain that if I had turned around, this is what I would have seen....
As I tore Semper's portion of the burger into bite sized pieces, I let them each have one.
My poor reluctant vegetarian children.

Cows are friends, not food, Bitty Beavens!

All of the birthday fun was scarfed down in about 2.2 seconds.  He has yet to learn the fine art of savoring your food.

He also got one of his favorite toys, a stuffed animal that holds a water bottle for extra noise!

A birthday posting would be remiss without a copy of the photo that started it all... this is where we fell in love with our beagle!  I saw this picture on facebook and called the kids over to see it.  All that was left was convincing Daddy that he belonged to us!

This is another photo from before he came to live with us, but after we told Ms. Candy we would take him.  I die laughing every time I look at that kitty with the intense stare stalking him in the background.

I was prepared for a difficult transition from puppy home to permanent home like we had with Semper (who, oddly enough, came from a MUCH worse 1st home), but he seemed to know from the beginning that he was loved and safe.  This picture was taken between picking him up and taking him to Petsmart to get him a few things.

Such an easy face to love!

Happy Birthday, Regal!
