Amelia: If I buy a stable, can I keep it?
Me: Yep!
Amelia: Will you take me over to visit my horses after I finish my schoolwork?
Me: Sure. But only after you finish your schoolwork.
Amelia: What about a parrot? If I buy it, can I have a parrot?
Me: No. Nothing that lives in the house.
Amelia: Oh. So no hawk, Abby!
Me: While you live in my house, I don't want anything that makes a bunch of noise, so no birds.
Amelia: What about when I'm a grown up?
Me: I don't care what you do as a grown up.
Amelia: What if we decide to smoke?
Me: Then I'll light you on fire and you can smoke for as long as you'd like.
Lots of chuckling ensues, wagon fixed.
