what happened on April 15, 1912 at 0220?
You should if you know Marshall!
It just so happens to be the date and time of the Titanic sinking!
Marshall just loves the Titanic and can tell you all you ever wanted to know (ahem...and more) about it. All you have to do is bring up the subject and watch him wind himself up into a tizzy trying to get his mouth to get the words out as fast as his brain his thinking of them! (Thank you, Mary Pope Osborne for fanning the flames of my boy's love of history!) If you remember from his 8th birthday post, Jeremy and I gave him a model of the great ship. Well, Marshall's grown a few months older and his dad has a few new gray hairs, but we are pleased to present you with....

THE TITANIC II
Many an hour were spent at the table working on this baby. He is so proud of it and we are proud of him! He's decided his next birthday party will be a 100 year anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic party (Hopefully with a less grim outcome!) and says he needs "a spinner thing" to put his model on so it can auto-rotate and be the centerpiece of the shindig.

| This photo was his idea. He wanted to make sure that you could see the top and all of it's details! |
(Funny side note... Marshall has always talked about the date of the sinking as being April 14, 1912. In writing this blog, I visited that ever handy website Wikipedia to make sure my old lady brain was remembering correctly those details so easy for an 8 year old to memorize. Anyway, what I found there was that the Titanic HIT the iceberg at 2340 on the 14th, but the actual sinking was April 15 at 0220. I called Marshall over to tell him and he looked at me with a bit of disbelief and ran into his room to double check the facts on his handy dandy informational Titanic poster. I heard him shriek a little "wow" and then he turned to his sister and said "Amelia! This changes MY WHOLE LIFE!")
I big time heart EVERYTHING about this boy!
