Summer Fun with the Tetreault's!

If I must be honest, I would have to tell you that Autumn and Spring are my favorite times of year in Pennsylvania. Timing with Jeremy and the children's schedules has had us visiting the last 3 Augusts though. While I have missed the beauty of fall foliage and that wonderful feeling you get when you finally see a few flower shoots popping up out of the ground after a long cold winter, we had a blast celebrating all the fun that childhood summers have to offer.
The ice cream truck wanders through Lorry's neighborhood every Tuesday evening, so we made sure that we were there and listening closely for the far off sound of happy music that it plays....

Deciding is always the hardest part...

And eating it the easiest!

One of Lorry's friends hosted a swim party at her house and invited all of us plus their usual group from church. The kids were able to meet some new friends and have a blast at the same time.

The water was a lot colder than we are used to in AZ... some of us adjusted to it better than others. Abby spent the bulk of her time with purple lips and shivering in a towel.

We also spent quite a few evenings playing on Caleb and Noah's swing set. The weather in the evening was quite pleasant and we also did our part in providing the local mosquitos with enough nourishment for their young. :)

Sarah loves her little swing... And Marshall loved making her laugh by pushing it for her.

I love sharing the joy of catching lightening bugs with the kids. We never live anywhere that these little guys do, so they are amazed at how good I am at catching them. :) Who knew all those years of practice as a child would come in handy at wowing my own kids?

Paul's mom was kind enough to lend us the use of her backyard right by a creek so we could have a bonfire. We roasted hot dogs, made smore's and had a blast running around. Amelia had her cast on at this point and I will be the first to admit that this was the beginning of the end for this particular cast in both appearance and smell.

The kids all piled in this cart that Paul hooked up to his truck. He used it to pull them up and down and all around the yard. Their screams of delight as he zoomed over hills and around turns could certainly be heard if not completely seen.

Fun times and GREAT memories!
