Go the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th metatarsals...
Little Ms. Amelia broke her foot a mere 7 days after arriving in PA.
Of my crew, I always knew she'd be the first to break a bone. I just pictured a much more dramatic scene involving a really tall tree, massive quantities of tears, splinting with homemade pillows and a mad dash to the ER. Thankfully, it was much more laid back than all of that. It actually occurred over a rousing game of hide and seek with "Nolan".** I carried her into the house and gave her a bag of ice.... again... and the crying only lasted for about 2 minutes. We left for Jeremy's Dad's house not long after that and she was fine... except she wouldn't put weight on that foot. I honestly didn't think too much of it until she woke up the next day and still, despite playing would not put weight on that foot. She was even politely asking the other children to be careful of the foot and to not touch it. That was when I decided I needed to get the ball rolling with our insurance company to have her seen. Later that afternoon, she found her self the proud new owner....
of a perfect tie-dye cast!
And it didn't stop her from doing a single thing! Her uncle Steve says it's a good thing she has it... it levels the playing field for the other children! ;)
