Yesterday we celebrated Marshall's SIXTH birthday! Once again I am left with that uncertain feeling of how we managed to reach another birthday when it feels like just yesterday he was born. The past 6 years have been a wonderful ride for certain and we are thankful for each and every day that we get to spend with our sweet boy.
We planned to take him on a surprise trip to Chuck E Cheese with his sisters and Peyton, a friends daughter who was tagging along while her mom had other plans. Jeremy even took a long lunch to join us. When told of our destination, Marshall with no hesitation declared that he didn't want to go to chuckie's! He wanted to celebrate his birthday at Chile's. I guess along with getting a year older, his tastes became more refined as well. Since it was only 1030 and no one was hungry, we were able to convince him that playing at Chuck E. Cheese's would be fun for a bit, then when we were hungry we could go to Chile's. For a heart stopping few minutes, the girls almost had their day hijacked by a birthday boy too big for his britches! :)

Marshall and his Mace Windu lightsaber. I'm not sure who Mace Windu is, but Marshall LOVES his lightsaber!
On Sunday, we had a Space Shuttle themed birthday party for Marshall. We invited a few of his new friends to help us celebrate. We played pin the planet in it's correct position in the universe, painted black t-shirts with glow in the dark paint, and watched a grown man have to destroy the pinata to get anything out of it. The kids were just happy to run and play and between planned activities, they would all run upstairs and you wouldn't even know that there were 9 kids in the house.

I'm still not sure how Jeremy was able to get them all sitting still and LOOKING at the camera. Notice how all but one is blonde? Think that's a hazard of living in Yuma?
Okay, now let me just say that I am a HUGE fan of cakewrecks so don't even bother submitting my slightly wonky ametuer rocket cake painted to look like a space shuttle. The boy was overly impressed and we'll just leave it at that! ;)
With a little (completely unaware!) help from his friend Andrew, he was able to get all those candles out first shot!
ONE BIRTHDAY DOWN, TWO TO GO!

Mace Windu is the Jedi from Episodes I, II, and III who was played by Samuel L. Jackson.
