MOD March for Babies 2008
The kids and I kidnapped our friends April and Aaron to Greenville, NC to participate in the March for Babies. After my friend Holly's grandson Brayden died unexpectedly this past March from complications of prematurity, I felt that this was just a small way that we could help. It was a beautiful day for a walk and we could not have asked for better weather. It was sunny and the temperature was just right! There was a local newscaster there to "mc" the event, a dj to entertain us and a yoga instructor to help us stretch! Our walk took us through downtown Greenville which had some beautiful old homes that made the walk much more interesting. We walked a total of 3 miles and Abby made it the whole way without riding at all! (Of course I promised her that she could have a soda with her lunch if she made it the whole way, so she pushed on!) The t-shirts that we wore were designed by Brayden's dad, Josh and won first place at their walk in Alabama. By the way Josh, we got many complements as well and quite a few people asked where we got them. Thanks to those of you who were so gracious to donate, Abby and I raised a total of $215 for this very worthy cause. I know that it is but a drop in the bucket, but every baby that can be saved due to advances in technology and education is a win! We love you baby Brayden and will dance with you one day in Heaven!
