Jeremy

Thought I'd keep you all updated on Jeremy. He is safe and sound and adjusting to life overseas again. He says that not much has changed and it's still pretty depressing around there, but on the upside, he has a room to himself and they now have internet in them. He bought a laptop to take with him, so we've been able to keep in contact fairly well. We have been doing skype and it's so nice to be able to see him and talk to him. Phone calls are nice, but they just aren't the same. Marshall sits here and shows him the little toys that he's playing with that day. Amelia is basically a blur in the background, big surprise, huh? Abby tries really hard to get a word in, but it's pretty hard with Marshall monopolizing all of Jeremy's time. I figure he's owed some guy time being stuck in a house with all girls.

Jeremy can still be reached at his normal email address, jwbeaven@hotmail.com. His address is as follows:
Capt Jeremy W. Beaven
VMAQ-3
Unit 78007
FPO AE 09509-8007

If you are interested in sending him something other than a letter, they are fairly strict with what they can and cannot have. It's basically common sense and actually not as strict as when he was stationed in Saudi. It is a muslim country, so no alcohol, porn, (ahem... joel! HEHE!), or cards with the little music discs in them. I think that the little cards can look like explosives or something, so they are a no-no. He can have religious material this time. I asked him what it looks like they may need and he said that surprisingly enough, there is a shortage of baby wipes. He also likes all those gummy candies that get between your teeth and stick there like sour patch kids and gummy bears. I know that he definitely treasures the contact that he has with people and that it helps to make his time a little more bearable. I'm sure it's nice to know that you can be gone without being forgotten. :) There is also this really cool website, www.motomail.us that you can access to "send" him mail. It is free, but you have to set up an account. It is really easy to do. You type your letter and they have a server there that prints it out and he gets a letter handed to him with his mail. You can even scan in pictures or drawings. I've used it before and it is pretty neat. They don't spam you or even hold onto your account. When you don't use it, they delete it as they figure your serviceman is home. I will create a link to the left, under "Websites We Love".

The kids and I are doing well and I have to say that I actually feel better now than I did the month before he left. It's nice to have some time under our belts, even if it's a week. We are all adjusting well and hope that before we know it, he's back. We went to pick up his car from the squadron this week. I couldn't bear to look at it before then. Now everytime we pull into the driveway, Marshall and Amelia get all excited and start yelling "Daddy's home!". It breaks my heart to have to tell them every time that he's not and to remind them where he is and how long he'll be gone. I can't wait for the sight of the car to become normal to them.

I'm including some pictures that we had done at Sear's before he left. It's funny to look at the picture he had done at Sears years ago compared to this one. He's gotten quite a few medals since then!

How adorable! (Not Jeremy, of course, but your kids!) Glad you all are adjusting as well as you could hope for and before long we'll be there to distract you! Miss you each one!

I was just thinking this morning that I needed to email you to ask about Jeremy's contact information for the deployment. I think a little lunch-time shopping is in order.
