My silly, funny girl

So we went to newest and hippest place in town today to order Amelia's birthday cake. (Don't get too excited, even if the rest of us are, it's just a Walmart!) We were checking out when Amelia noticed the game section that they have over in the front corner and she got very excited and this was her dialogue

"I wanna go play games"
"I wanna go play games"
"I wanna go play games"
"I want to go play F-U-N"
"I want to go play F-U-N"
"Mommy, can we go play F-U-N"?

She makes me (and the ladies working in the bank who were within earshot) laugh... the place is called Fun Zone or something. She just saw the letters and started spelling them out. SHE'S TWO!!!! Granted we were shopping for her #3 candle, but she is STILL two! A big ball of energy, moxie, smarts and sweet all rolled into one!

Sorry I haven't posted (or emailed) much lately. Life has been crazy. I do have MANY events to catch everyone up on! We've had a birthday (Marshall), a combined birthday sleepover at the aquarium, visits from family, Easter, and lots more coming up in very short order. Jeremy just left for yet another vacation to the sun soaked Middle East and we've been very caught up with that. I would think that the more times that we do it, the easier it would get, but it truly seems to get harder. Even when he's here, he's in and out. I am so ready for the next duty station which hopefully will be a nondeploying unit. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind a few days or even a couple weeks to myself to do my own thing, but we are ready to have him home for longer than he's gone.

I'm going to try REALLY hard to get some more stuff up here before we have 2 more birthdays and a trip to PA in the next week. Wish me luck! ;)

I was thinking that Jeremy's deployment was soon. I obviously haven't dealt with it, but it does seem like the sort of thing that doesn't get easier.

Looking forward to hearing about all the recent adventures.

Hi Torry and family. I didn't even realize that Lara had posted most recently. She keeps me updated on the latest w/ your fam. I hadn't been on to check in in about a year! Enjoyed the update very much. The kids have grown a whole lot. That Amelia sounds like such a character! Her Sears pictures and your description of her wanting to swim alone brought a grin to my face, as did Marshall in the blue spidey makeup and Abby's "if there was no sin" artwork. That last one put a small lump in my throat as well as the grin. Military families need prayers - thank you to Jeremy and you 4 for all you are doing.

Thanks for keeping this blog up - it's so worthwhile. Tough to believe after knowing Lara for 6 1/2 years now I've never met you or the kids after meeting Jeremy at least twice. Hope you feel free in stopping by whenever you pass by or spend time in the nation's capitol. We'll make an effort to see you if we're ever down your way too.

We are hoping and praying for the best for all of you. May His wisdom and love and teachings rub off on us all.

Ron
