Blast Off!

The kids and I were invited to Southwest Christian School to watch their middle schoolers launch the rockets they had made.  It just happens to be the school that our good friends attend, hence the invitation, but getting to see them on a school morning was LOTS of fun and an unexpected twist to our day.

Autumn's Glam Girl Rocket.
You KNOW I love that purple paint!

The kids took turns, going one at a time, so we didn't see all of the rockets, but we stayed for a little over an hour.  They set them up with minimal help from the teachers.

The Countdown begins!!!

And we have BLAST OFF!!!

Looks like she did it right!  The rocket came back down, attached to it's parachute.

The kids ran after their rockets and very few were able to catch them.

Think Autumn does????

She Does!!!!  Way to go, Autumn!!

It may be almost November, but here in the desert, the sun is still shining bright!  I noticed that Abby, Marshall and Amelia kept trying to align themselves into my shadow for some relief for your eyes and to cool off a bit.  Notice Amelia's irritated face at my taking away her shade by having to back up to get the picture.  :)  Funny kids!

These girls are like peas and carrots and I am so incredibly grateful that Abby has Autumn!

The 2 youngest Beavens with the youngest Goodman...

I thought that fashion had come full circle when I saw this girl.  It totally took me back to 8th grade!
Anita later informed me that it was 80's day at the school!  LOL!  Here I was marveling at how little changed, right down to the scrunchie and slouch socks!  Wonder where she got those by the way?!?

Looks like "Rocket Boys". What fun.
Interesting contrast as we are anticipating up to 10 " of snow here today.
Love the cherries shirt Abby.

Hugs,
