Pathfinder Camporee, Sunday

There were lots more activities planned for Sunday.  Jeremy went over to the campsite early to get Abby and bring her back for a shower.  Unfortunately, she came back with a terrible stomach virus.  It quickly became apparent that she would not be participating in the bulk of the days activities.  She had been practicing drill for months and today was her big day.  There were 3 drill competitions Sunday.  Two in the morning and one in the afternoon.  We tucked her in bed and hoped that by the time the 2nd and 3rd events occurred that she would be feeling well enough to perform.  The first event was a "Drill Down".  It's kind of like Simon Says only they perform drill maneuvers.  That one she could skip if she needed to, but the Drill Team was depending on her to complete the Precision Drill and Fancy Drill.
The morning started with a parade of Pathfinders.  Three of the little siblings decided to tag along.  Abby was still resting for this one.

They walked by the judges for another inspection.

Someone was embarrassed by all the attention.

Marshall had fun with the Drill Down and even beat out a few of the bigger kids.  A girl from our club was one of 3 winners.  Go Yuma Suns!

I can only think he was contemplating where he went wrong...  ;)

Marshall helped to hold the team flag during the Precision Drill.

There was part of me that was terrified that Abby wouldn't be able to perform with the drill team, but she pulled herself up by her bootstraps and did an awesome job!  All six of them did.

They ended up earning a first place for their performance!

There was a break time between the Precision and Fancy Drills, so we tucked Abby back in bed and walked around the campground seeing what else there was to do.  Amelia decided to stay with Mabel at the campsite while Jeremy, Marshall and I walked around.  Marshall had fun throwing darts at balloons, "bowling" and playing ring on the bottle.

Jeremy took him down to the gymnasium so he could work on his Track and Field honor.  That boy runs like greased lightening!

Apparently they were out of hurdles built for 8 year old boys...
Unfortunately, he didn't have time to complete the honor before having to leave for the Fancy Drill Competition.

The Fancy Drill comes complete with fancy uniform and flags and cool music!

Doesn't get much sharper than these kids!

She's cool as a cucumber!  You'd never know she had a raging fever and tummy ache.

Post performance celebrating.  They did AWESOME!!!  Another 1st place!

What a great group of kids.  They worked really hard and it showed!
