More Marshall-isms

Marshall has a friend here who likes to use some phrases that my kids haven't been exposed to before, like "Holy Macaroni or Holy Cow". We've had to have discussions about the word "Holy" and it's intended use and the disrespectfulness of using it in a flippant way. I was trying to convey to him that we should only use the word in reference to God, showing that something is worthy of or sacred to God. I wasn't clear or despite his best listening ears, it didn't sound the same to him. You would think that I'd have worked in the ER long enough to know that people don't always hear what is being said, right? Below is the ending of our conversation:

"Ok, so, if i want to use the word holy, it should be about God?"

Yes.

"So next time I see something new, I'll just say HOLY GOD!"

Oh dear. Can you imagine? It's even worse than the macaroni! For now we'll just have to stick to using the word holy only in prayer.
