Why, it's quite simple. In the tradition (yet not quite so odd) of celebrity couples such as Bennifer, Tomkat and Brangelina, a Bappy is Pappy + Bonnie! Our main reason for traveling north this past August was to be a part of and witness the marriage of these two wonderful people whom we all just adore. On August 16th, they tied the knot and became one..... of course, they've been inseparable since they met, so it didn't come as a real surprise to any of us. The bride was beautiful, the groom happy like I've never seen, the children were quiet (well, almost!), the weather was fantastic, the cake delicious...... hey, what more do you need?
My sister and I, along with Bonnie's daughter, were bridesmaids. Abby did a wonderful job of playing a portion of Beethoven's Fifth as we all walked down the aisle. Marshall handed out programs and Amelia was the flower girl. I'll admit, she was the one I was worried about. I had a scary vision of her knocking over the ring bearer and stealing his pillow. She did quite well, despite being 3 and "spirited"!
So to Bappy, I want to wish you both the trip of a lifetime. May you always remember the joy you felt on this day. I also hope that you always know how much we love you and how special you both are to us.
