Can you say OOH RAH???

We just found out that Jeremy has been "selected" for Major. For you non-military types, that means that he will get a promotion at some point, hopefully in the next year. With any luck it will be before summer is over. It doesn't change any of his deployment plans or affect any possible moves that we may have coming up, but it will change the pin on his collar and as he has been filling a Majors billet, his pay will reflect as much. You'll have to stay tuned to catch pictures of his pinning!
An update on the rest of us is probably rather boring, but if you choose to read on, do so at your own risk. :) I have been pretty busy with the kiddo's as usual. They sure keep me hopping. Abby is half way finished with fourth grade, so that's a great feeling. The end of the year testing is usually in March, so I feel the pressure to get as much done as possible before then. I always found that to be a bit strange as she still has a third of the school year left, but no one that mattered asked my opinion! Marshall is still going to speech and OT. The speech teacher is ready to discharge him, but they will not provide OT alone, so we're hoping that she will decide to keep him. He has made a lot of progress with his fine motor skills and can cut like a champ! He still struggles to find a reasonable pencil grasp, but even that is getting better. He has never been one to enjoy coloring or writing, but I have been working with him a few minutes each day and he's getting much better. He can now write a few letters of his name which just sends us over the moon. He has known all of the letters and the phonetic sounds that they make for quite some time now, so it's good to see his hands catching up with his brain. I found a system that should help called HANDWRITING WITHOUT TEARS. Feel free to check out the link at left. They have these wood segments that the child uses to form the letters. It's great for the fine motor challenged as it gets him thinking about how the letters are formed mechanically so it's easier for him to do it with a pencil. We have also started on teaching him to do a very rudimentary form of reading. He's doing quite well, but still has the attention span of a 4 year old boy which is about 2 nanoseconds longer than that of a hamster! Amelia is doing well and is just about potty trained. We still have occasional accidents but we can pretty much rely on her to do it here at home. Now I just have to be brave enough to make it an away from home thing as well.
We hope that this finds you all doing well! Feel free to drop us a line anytime!

Reading about Marshall's new skills put a smile on my face.
